Helena D.

$475 of $475 raised

Helena was working as a paramedic in Germany when she met her husband who was stationed there at a military base. When his assignment was over, they moved to Virginia which forced Helena to give up the career she loved because her license did not transfer to America. She wasn't sure what she would do but soon found the answer -- wildlife rehabilitation.  Helena has always cared for animals but, up until that point, only companion animals. She was lucky to have the opportunity to work with two wonderful mentors - Dana and Deborah. Their passion and enthusiasm was contagious and before long, Helena knew that this is what she wanted to do. She now cares for injured and orphaned squirrels, opossums, raccoons and raptors. An incubator will help her save the most fragile babies.
