Jennifer has always loved animals. Even as a child, people would bring her little animals they found so she was rehabbing long before she knew what it was called or that she needed to have a license. She has been fortunate to have an awesome veterinarian who was willing to teach her and let her shadow him in the clinic. Originally Jennifer rehabbed baby birds, then began to do mammals. As the years progressed, she began to specialize in critical care of squirrels, treating spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, malocclusions and metabolic bone disease, and is one of only a few local rehabbers who are willing to rehab injured adult squirrels. Jennifer now works full time as a registered nurse and is limited in the number of animals she can take at one time so she primarily does triage and stabilization, and transferring healthy orphans to other rehabbers in order to leave room for critical cases. She also teaches rehab classes and mentors new rehabbers.
