Critical care nurse for 11 years, wildlife rehabilitation fell into my lap when 4 orphan skunks arrived in my care after their mother was killed by a dog. I moved to Texas from Alabama in 2019 and by the following summer I knew a wildlife rescue was needed in the Big Country. After volunteering and working as a sub-permittee for almost one year I applied for my own permit and established my non-profit organization in the fall of 2020. We have already saved 300 animals since May of this year and next season I see us saving more than 1000 native wildlife in Texas. Saving our native wildlife is a passion of mine. I believe we as a nation should all learn to go-exist safely with our wild neighbors and we can provide that by educational opportunities and children camps.
