After leaving my jobs working at the local high school and coaching high school rowing I was looking for something different. I've always loved animals and so I started volunteering at the zoo working with elephants. I just happened to stumble on a local wildlife rehab website and thought that sounds like a dream come true. I began volunteering as a transporter, linking animals in need with local wildlife rehabbers, when I realized I wanted to be that rehabber! I found a local rehabber who mentored me, began studying and learning and getting as much experience as I could until I received my own permit! Best decision ever!
