Karen's family has always been animal lovers. When she had children of her own, she wanted to pass on that love to them. Living in rural areas made that easy, and it wasn't long before people were calling Karen for animal advice. She in turn would call Wild at Heart for advice and eventually they asked if Karen wanted to work with them. She has been rehabbing wildlife ever since. As her career military husband is away a lot, she found that caring for hurt or injured wildlife gave her something to do. Now it’s a passion that she shares with her whole family.
