Karen found an orphaned baby squirrel at her parents' home and when she couldn't find a rehabber to help the little guy, she took on the task herself. She did her research, successfully raised and released the squirrel, and she was hooked! Ten years later she helps over 100 animals each year ~ gray squirrels, opossums, cottontails and flying squirrels. She volunteers with Second Chance Wildlife and is working toward her next level license. She loves not just helping the animals but also educating people about wildlife and what to do if human intervention is needed. Her youngest student will debut in April -- her first grandchild!
