Kat's love for wildlife started when she was a child thanks to her "Dr. Dolittle" father. Her backyard and playground were the woods and she was lucky enough to get exposed to a lot of diverse wildlife growing up. She started rehabbing as a volunteer and immediately fell in love with the work (even though most of it was cleaning) and spent as much time at the rehab facility as she could. She eventually became a part time employee covering the weekends while working full time at her AmeriCorps position during the week. Now, as a full time rehabber, her love for the work continues to grow each day she gets the opportunity to care for wildlife, as well as educate children about wildlife. The facility she works for only has one incubator and they are in desperate need for another for the upcoming busy season.
