Katherine is a Norfolk Police Officer in Virginia. She responded to a call for an injured squirrel and in getting the baby to care, she was introduced to the world of wildlife rehabbing. Fortunately Katherine had a background in training birds of prey and she was so grateful for even more experience with these amazing animals. She now cares for hawks, owls, vultures and eagles - as many as 1000 animals in a year. Helping citizens by day and animals the rest of the time, Katherine is never happier than when releasing healthy birds back in the wild.
