This incubator campaign was for the TLC-30 Eco “To Go” Portable Incubator model
How has your first Baby Warm incubator helped you?
As the incubator is a closed piece of equipment I do not have to worry about squiggly, hungry and lost little babies "wandering" off the heat source causing them to freeze to death or get caught in blankets or get spot burned by malfunctioning heating pads. My cage bars are the smallest made and in my brooder cage (3 levels) it has happened that some tinies were pulled down from below and, well, eaten. Not so with the incubator! It's saved lives!!!
How will this additional incubator help?
I won't have to stop and reheat the warming disc or other heat source during a full day of rolling rescues. I will be able to go farther, faster! While 2016 numbers were high (614 babies rescued), 2017 was a bit lower at 483. Miles covered in the time period of February 2017 to August 2017 topped 2000 however and I had to struggle in the late winter/spring to keep babies warm. There just isn't a good system right now for all day rescues, whether going distance or making multiple stops. Is this incubator the answer? I believe it might just be!
