In my late 20s, I started asking myself what I wanted to do with my life. What did I want my life to mean? How did I want to put some good back into the world? I decided that I wanted to fulfill a lifelong dream of working with animals, and so I went back to college to obtain a degree in wildlife biology. The college I attended also has a wildlife rehabilitation program, and since I have been rescuing animals my entire life, I was intrigued. I enrolled in the program and fell in love with wildlife rehabilitation. I knew then that this was my calling and how I would spend my life. There are so many terrible things in this world and I wanted my life's purpose to be some way of putting even just a small amount of good back into the world. Wildlife rehabilitation and education is how I connect to Mother Earth and the greater good. I could not imagine myself with any other purpose.
