Lisa B.
Lisa has always loved wild animals. As a child, she used to care for orphaned baby birds and fed the neighborhood squirrels. 20 years ago she moved out into the country and found a baby raccoon on the side of the road during a storm. She scooped it up, called animal services and they referred her to a wildlife rehabber. Lisa didn't know wildlife rehabbers existed until that moment. After bringing the baby to the rehabber and seeing what they were doing, she was hooked. She got her license and rehabbed for a few years before moving to the city where her career prevented from continuing. 15 years later, she moved back to the country, reapplied and is now rehabbing again. Lisa loves helping the animals but also educating the community about the value of wild animals – especially the misunderstood opposum.
