About a week before the 1 year anniversary of my mom’s death there was a windstorm and a nest of newly born squirrels blew into the little memorial flower garden I made for her. I followed all the advice of trying to get their momma to get them but nothing worked. I kept them for a few days and cared for them until I found a wildlife rehabber in my area. She contacted me after I took them to her place and told me I cared for them very well and if I was interested in becoming a rehabber she would mentor me. And the best part was she gave me the babies I found back on the day of my mom’s passing anniversary. I strongly felt this was my mom’s doing to try and ease my sadness—and it has.
