Taking care of animals is something Nancy is passionate about. She had pets from a very young age and took their care very seriously. When a dog or other domestic animal gets injured or sick, people can count on bringing them to the vet for the care they need. But what about wild animals? It has always bothered Nancy that they have nowhere to go and nobody to care for them in times of need. Home rehabbers are few and far between in Western North Carolina and are in desperate need of resources. Nancy immediately knew that becoming a home rehabber was for her. She could work with the animals that she has always cared about and contribute to the needs of her community. She now has her state mammal rehabilitator license, and will start accepting animals in her home. “A simple act of kindness and compassion towards a single animal may not mean anything to all creatures, but will mean everything to one.” -Paul Oxton
