Nicole H.

$475 of $475 raised

Nicole initially started her career in animal care by working as a zookeeper. She soon discovered that native species were her passion and worked for the DNR studying migratory bird and bat populations in Northwest Indiana. When she was able, she moved over to caring for native wildlife, driven by her passion for native wildlife and a sense of responsibility to care for those who have been impacted by humans. She began her rehab stint as a sub-permittee and recently became a state and federally licensed rehabilitator. Nicole feels fortunate to have been able to help care for over 5,000 animals in need. The reason she wants to continue rehabbing and is so passionate about it is not only for helping injured and orphaned wildlife but also because there is a shortage of wildlife rehabilitators across her state. An incubator will help Nicole care for the most fragile babies.
