Years ago Pat was caring for small mammals and noticed that nobody was working with backyard birds - the ones people love to watch at their feeders. Raptor caregivers found the little ones too time consuming, delicate and small to work on. Pat took up the challenge. She has now been a rehabber for 24 years and cares for small, non-hunting, migratory backyard birds, especially warblers, often more than 200 each year. Her incubator will be used for neonate babies as well as sick and injured birds who could benefit from the warm environment.
