Peggy P.
Peggy has always loved animals, especially the young ones, and from the time she was in grade school she would raise orphaned animals, both domestic and wild. While volunteering for her local humane society back in the early 1980s, she started taking home orphaned wildlife that came in to the center. She received formal training and then became licensed around 1985. Peggy's primary interest, experience, and capacity continues to focus on orphan care and, due to time and space restraints, she limits herself to small mammals. She also accepts calls from the public and spends a lot of time assisting people who have questions or concerns about wildlife. Originally Peggy took in mostly squirrels and bunnies but she seems to be moving towards smaller and smaller animal species every year. Now her admissions are more likely to be flying squirrels, weasels, mice, etc., with weights in the 4-10 gram range. There is not much room for error when it comes to feeding and housing these little micro babies. An incubator will be such a huge help in saving such tiny babies.
