As Samantha grew up and learned more about wildlife, she became increasingly frustrated at the impact humans have on wild animals. She wanted to find a way to directly help those animals that humans had harmed, and that way was through wildlife rehabilitation. Her freshmen year of college she was looking for a way to get involved in a local organization and she began volunteering at a wildlife rescue as soon as she could. Samantha believes that wildlife rehabilitation serves a bigger purpose than just saving wildlife, but provides a way for the community to not only learn about wildlife but also learn how to be compassionate and co-exist with the animals that lived in our neighborhoods way before we did.
