I have always found myself having a soft spot for underdogs. I have also always found myself drawn to subjects, activities, and other things that are less common. I was in college and trying to figure out what career path I wanted to take. Although I knew I wanted to do something with animal behavior, or just animals in general, it wasn't until I had my first conservation biology class that I learned about wildlife rehabilitation and it just clicked. From there on out I made it my goal to educate myself and create a future where I would be able to participate in the wildlife rehabilitation world. From that point on, I began to locate and volunteer at the closest rehabilitation centers even though that was still over an hour away. Once I realized the dire need for rehabilitators and a wildlife center it was only a matter of a few months before I was on the track to becoming a licensed Wildlife rehabilitator in New York. In 2021, a dream was achieved and I became a rehabilitator, and by the end of 2022 I hope to have a wildlife center started in my county!
