Stephanie has always been involved with local animal rescues and would often bottle feed cats and dogs. While at work one day, a frantic coworker called her saying there was a baby squirrel on the ground and 3 neighborhood cats were approaching. It was a 3 week old helpless baby with her eyes still closed. One look at her and Stephanie was hooked. She realized that there were all these people helping domesticated pets, and yet they only had 1 wildlife rehabber in their area (and she is always overloaded). Stephanie started taking in injured and orphaned wildlife, rehabbing and releasing. She says that wildlife rehabilitation is a passion of hers and she puts so much time and care into these sweet babies that it's always bittersweet on release day. She learned early on that if it's not hard on you on release day, then you're not doing it right.
