Valerie M.

Valerie has been interested in helping wildlife ever since she was a child. She started volunteering at one wildlife rehab facility 5 years ago but over the years that has expanded to temporarily housing and transporting birds in need to 6 different rehabilitation facilities. The closest is 50 miles away so the patients often stay with Valerie overnight (thus the need for an incubator). During busy season, she can have as many as 7 rescues per day. In addition to transporting injured and orphaned wildlife, Valerie also recruits new volunteers, builds nesting habitats for birds of prey, and organizes education workshops to benefit the local wildlife.
